SUMMARY:New Exhibit Opening - Ferrari in America
DESCRIPTION:Join us on December 9\, 2025\, for the opening of our newest temporary exhibit\, Ferrari in America. \nThe name Ferrari invokes excitement and passion from many car enthusiasts. Luigi Chinetti an Italian-born racecar driver and 3-time winner of LeMans relocated to the US prior to WWII. He reconnected with his friend Enzo Ferrari where he proposed becoming Ferrari’s official importer in the US. In 1953 he established Luigi Chinetti Motors. Not only was he the exclusive US Ferrari dealership\, but he founded the North American Racing Team (NART) in 1958. This exhibit explores the early Ferraris during the years that Luigi would be the importer. \nThe exhibit will be on display on December 9\, 2025 – March 29\, 2026.

SUMMARY:New Exhibit Opening - Cannonball Run
DESCRIPTION:Join us on September 30\, 2025\, for the opening of our newest temporary exhibit\, Cannonball Run. \nThe Cannonball Baker Sea-to-Shining-Sea Race is named for Erwin Baker who logged an estimated 5.5 million miles and set 55 different cross-country records in the early days of automobiles. The first run was in 1933 with Baker’s 53.5 hour drive from New York to LA. In 1971\, to protest the new 55 MPH speed limit\, Brock Yates and others revived the Cannon Ball Run to break the existing record and prove that high speed doesn’t equal danger. Here is an opportunity to view vehicles that have run the race and learn the stories of their experiences. \nThe exhibit will be on display on September 30\, 2025 – February 1\, 2026.

SUMMARY:New Exhibit Opening - It's a Duesy!
DESCRIPTION:Join us on August 5\, 2025\, for the opening of our newest temporary exhibit\, It’s a Duesy! \nIn the early days of car travel\, one name stood out for quality and opulence – Duesenberg. Frederick and August Duesenberg were destined to make a mark not only on the race track but also in the passenger car venue. It was success at the Indianapolis 500 that persuaded the brothers to build their own line of cars. Like other small car companies\, finances were a struggle. The company was purchased by Auburn Automobile Co. whose president E.L. Cord shocked the brothers with his proposal to build an even more expensive car! The Model J\, introduced in 1928 was the status symbol of the rich and famous throughout the 20s and 30s. This exhibition presents some of the cars from that era. \nThe exhibit will be on display August 5\, 2025 – December 7\, 2025.

SUMMARY:New Exhibit Opening - Stunning Studebakers
DESCRIPTION:Join us on April 1\, 2025\, for the opening of our newest temporary exhibit\, Stunning Studebakers. \nBeginning as manufacturers of wagons and buggies\, Clement and Henry Studebaker\, blacksmiths by trade\, built covered wagons that helped settle the American West. Studebaker Brothers Manufacturing Company produced their first electric car in 1902 and by 1904 switched over to gasoline. By the 1920’s Studebaker was a top-shelf car company. Never the size of The Big Three\, Studebaker\, like other smaller car companies struggled financially. The exhibition covers the early years starting with a 1927 President Limo and ending with a 1963 Avanti. This exhibition\, following the Prominent Packard’s display of 2024\, completes the story of two car companies struggling to survive as individuals and their demise as partners. \nThe exhibit will be on display from April 1\, 2025\, to August 3\, 2025.

SUMMARY:New Exhibit Opening - American Small Cars: Bantam & Crosley
DESCRIPTION:Join us on January 7\, 2025\, for the opening of our newest temporary exhibit\, American Small Cars: Bantam & Crosley. \nFour years before the Corvette\, the first American\, and even smaller sports car was on the road. The Crosley Hot Shot appeared in 1949\, brought to you by the same company that in 1951 produced possibly the smallest farm vehicle ever\, the Farm-O-Road. In 1935\, Roy Evans purchased the American Austin\, and changed the name to American Bantam.  This car manufacturer was known for making small cars with a top speed of 50 MPH and averaging 40 MPG. A curated exhibition of these tiny cars showcases the creativity and engineering sophistication of two pioneers in small car design – Crosley and American Bantam. \nThe exhibit will be on display on January 7 – May 4\, 2025.
