Join us on August 5, 2025, for the opening of our newest temporary exhibit, It’s a Duzy.
In the early days of car travel, one name stood out for quality and opulence – Duesenberg. Frederick and August Duesenberg were destined to make a mark not only on the race track but also in the passenger car venue. It was success at the Indianapolis 500 that persuaded the brothers to build their own line of cars. Like other small car companies, finances were a struggle. The company was purchased by Auburn Automobile Co. whose president E.L. Cord shocked the brothers with his proposal to build an even more expensive car! The Model J, introduced in 1928 was the status symbol of the rich and famous throughout the 20s and 30s. This exhibition presents some of the cars from that era.
The exhibit will be on display August 5, 2025 – December 7, 2025.
