In response to America’s desire for a patriotic “new” car design, Chevrolet introduced the stylish, two door Fleetline Aerosedan which sported a fastback roofline. A unique accessory was the wood-grained “Country Club” trim package produced by Engineered Enterprises of Detroit. This special item was available only through authorized dealers at an additional cost of $149.50.

The Aerosedan is reminiscent of an upscale Cadillac and offered consumers a Chevrolet option to the two-door fastbacks from Pontiac, Buick, Cadillac, and Oldsmobile. The Aerosedan featured a more contemporary look with molded fenders that flowed to the doors. Spanning the hood was the bowtie emblem now sporting chrome-plated wings. A redesigned grille added a fresh look to the car’s front face. The new three-point ignition switch, needing only one key to serve all locks, was a revolutionary development.
