Ford’s legendary F-Series began in January 1948, with eight levels of trucks, including the F-1 half-ton pickup as the lightest capacity model. With the Korean Conflict dominating headlines in 1950, there was a concern about whether civilian car and truck production would stop, as it had during WWII. Ford Motors caught wind of this frantic consumer need to buy any available vehicles and increased truck production.
This truck received a full restoration, including an upgrade to the engine (Ford Crate 347 cu. in. stroker), transmission (AODE 4-Speed Auto), and suspension (TCI Mustang II). The truck was finished by painting it with a Chrysler Miami Cream color. The old truck was completely transformed. In 2022, it won “Best of Show” at The Grand National F-100 Show.
