Willys M38 Jeep (also identified as an “MC” by the company) was a post WWII vehicle based on the CJ-3A. These Jeeps were equipped with military features such as a one-piece foldable windshield with bottom mounted wipers. In addition, it came with a pintle hook for towing, lifting shackles and pioneer tools (axe and shovel) mounted on the passenger side. The fuel filler is on the driver’s side. The electrical system is waterproof and requires a second battery.
Instrument gauges with external lights are centrally located on the dashboard. The data plates, and the glove box are located on the right-hand side. On the left are the choke, throttle, and the switch for the lights. M-38 production continued until 1952. Reportedly, Enzo Ferrari called the Willys Jeep “the only true American sports car.” Designed by a committee, which rarely produce anything successful, the icon of WWII is the humble Jeep.
