With focus primarily on passenger cars, the 1955 Chevrolet truck debuted with minor updates. All that changed in March when the “Second Series” of dramatically redesigned “Task Force” trucks were unveiled. Driver convenience and comfort were number one. The Task Force trucks featured the “Sweep-Sight” panoramic windshield, first introduced on the LeSabre concept car. An optional wrap-around rear window was also available.

The new forward-slanting body portrayed a sleek load-pulling appearance. Hooded head lamps and a chrome egg-crate grille gave the Task Force trucks an upscale look. “Concealed Safety Steps” hid running boards behind the doors for easier entry and exit in inclement weather. “Glass Guard” exterior window molding provided additional protection and durability that lessened the possibility of breakage. This truck has been customized and now has a 350 cu. in. small block engine and an automatic transmission.
