Until 1962, all Corvettes were convertibles. For 1957, the Corvette remained unchanged from the previous year’s model. However, 1957 was a golden year for the car. The big news was the optional 283 cubic inch/283 HP Ramjet fuel-injected engine that produced 1 horsepower per cubic inch. A basic 1957 Corvette was equipped with a 220 HP engine and a three-speed manual transmission. This car was purchased with the optional dual-quad carburetor engine, removable hardtop, and 4-speed manual transmission.

This Corvette was purchased with the understanding that extensive work was necessary. Local restoration specialists dismantled and removed the body from the frame. Once the paint was stripped away, it was discovered that the body required more attention than planned. Following a complete frame-off restoration, and repainted its original Aztec Copper color, this Corvette is restored to its “new car, showroom condition”.
