In the late 1970’s, a young man named Andy Womack walked into S&M Supply looking for a job. Owner Bill Stephenson was already a family friend, but over the years he became a mentor, teacher and close friend to his new employee. In 1977 Bill bought this C3 Corvette and stopped by Andy’s house. To Andy’s surprise, Bill tossed him the keys and told him to take it for a spin. Andy didn’t have to be told twice!
Already a car buff, Bill’s act of kindness sparked a fire in Andy. Having never driven a Corvette before, he was now a passionate believer. Throughout his life Andy has owned 6 Corvettes, all silver, in honor of Bill’s car. When Bill passed away, he left this car to Andy, who after having it mechanically restored and detailed, generously donated it to the Savoy Automobile Museum. This Corvette is a testimony of a lasting friendship between two car enthusiasts.
