According to Hemmings, the 1996 Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn qualifies as one of the most expensive and certainly most luxurious cars of that era. The limited production run was initially produced only for the North American market. Rolls-Royce traditionally placed great emphasis on the comfort of those who preferred to be driven. Now the driver was treated with that same thoughtfulness. The front end was lowered, and the signature silver grille was shortened. Even the Spirit of Ecstasy mascot was made smaller.

Both driver and passengers were surrounded by a sumptuous interior, which Hemmings describes as “sublime isolation.” Leather-wrapped seating ensured a ride at the highest level of comfort. Wood trim, silver, and chrome surrounds reflected the company’s commitment that no detail was too small or insignificant. In a slight nod to those riding up front, they received cup holders, while the rear seat passengers did not. Finally, a new electronic traction assistance system provided safety in adverse conditions. The Silver Dawn was featured in the movie “Crazy Rich Asians.”
